We have a location!

Dustbowl Arts Market is proud to announce that we will be blocking off Buchanan Street on Norman's Campus Corner for the show!

We are so grateful to the wonderful people affiliated with Campus Corner Merchants Association for arranging this for us.

What an amazing opportunity for vendors to introduce their work to folks around Norman and OU that wouldn't normally attend an art/craft market.

Time to get those applications in...tell your friends!
Visit www.dustbowlartsmarket.com for an application. New website layout coming soon!

Coming to a Norman, Oklahoma near you at the end of August!

Feel free to contact us at dustbowlartsmarket@gmail.com if you have any questions.

vacation...all i ever wanted!

Tyler and I are scooting away on Saturday for vacation! We are going to the Bahamas with almost his entire family, so all together, there will be 23 of us. Holy moley...it's going to be a blast. I love my new family and can't wait to have a wonderful week with them.

We have a layover in Miami on Saturday evening and are looking forward to our stay here... Viceroy Miami, designed by my favorite Kelly Wearstler. I am really excited to see it in person. Her style is so elegant and quirky.

Our flight gets in around 4:00 and we don't leave until 11:30 on Sunday morning. We are excited about eating some great food in the less than 24 hour time span we will be there. No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain is one of our favorite shows, so we aren't afraid of local haunts. Any dining suggestions?

My reading list for next week includes, but is not limited to...
Housekeeping by Marilynne Robinson for book club
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins for fun
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen for the billionth time
For a new spin on Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy maybe I should try Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith? Probably not.

Have a lovely day!

New and Improved Porch

Whoa...I really hate the winter and the way our porch looked. Definitely need some color and flowers.

Found the two metal chairs at an estate sale. A can of red paint should do the trick.

A couple of trips to the flea market, Lowe's and some new fabric, and the porch is ready for spring.

A few pots of geraniums and impatients add some texture.

Worked on some hand sewing projects today from the swing. Sure beats a cubicle.

My Best Friends Baby Bump...

My dear and fabulous friends, Courtney and Rob are expecting in July. For Court's birthday I gave making a baby bump top a go.

Courtney, being an exceptionally crafty gal with an eye for detail, is making the babies bedding. They are waiting to find out the gender of the baby so she found some really cute Amy Butler fabrics in different shades of grass green, blue and yellow for the skirt, bumper and quilt. She's putting the finishing touches on the quilt an when it's done, she has graciously agreed to let me post photos of her work.

When she opened her present, we found out that one of the prints she had selected was in the top I had made! We must have been channeling the same brain waves that day. Can't wait to meet their little one.

Classics

If they were good enough for Marie Antoinette...

There good enough for me...I'd like a pair of low tops in grass green.

JFK loved them...

Cary Grant looked awesome in them...

I'd like these wayfarers...

or maybe these club masters:

James Dean wore them...

Forget the $200 dollar jeans...give me a pair of new levi's

Keep your rum, just give me a coke classic.

Chocolate and Litter

While driving home from getting my hair cut by the fabulous Erica Smith at Lollies Beauty Bar, I stopped by Target and picked up my favorite bar of chocolate.

Delicious! Exceptionally great when you put it in the freezer for a while.

So, there I was, driving down Main Street, enjoying my Chocolate XOXOX Orange Peel Dark Chocolate, and the person in the Ford F-150 in front of me proceeded to toss there trash out the window. Littering and people that don't respect bicycle lanes really get me riled up. So instead of laying on the horn and making an idiot of myself, I called the Litter Line.
Jot down the license number, make, model and color of the vehicle and call this number:

1.888.554.8837

They will mail a notice to thee car owner telling them they were spotted littering. At least this might give them a guilty conscience and wait for a trash can. If you see people throwing cigarettes out when a burn ban is going on, they might write tickets. Not completely sure about that.

Go buy some chocolate and program the Litter Line into your mobile.

Keep our land grand!

I'm going to need some lunch dates

It's gonna be a long two weeks...
Tyler has gone to the great state of

This Saturday, May 9th in Oklahoma City at the Fair Grounds.

Mother's Day on Sunday and then (insert the sound of crickets) I'm going to be going through some serious Tyler Day withdrawals. Hopefully it will be nice weather and I can get a lot done around the house.
