Canton Scores

It was definitely a successful trip. We found just about everything on our lists and then some!
A few photos of what a modern day treasure hunt looks like.

I had to resist the urge to buy the red vintage lawn chairs.

Can you spot the cute, fluffy dog in this vendors booth?

Loved the old marquee letters, but no "H's" to be found.

Junk galore! My kind of place.

Some much needed home-made ice cream after a long day of scouring the place.

I found:

  • 12 1920's wooden folding chairs that once belonged to the International Order of Old Fellows $11.50 each! What a deal.
  • 1 glass, amber colored head
  • A flying pig made of recycled street signs. Slightly tacky but I love it. He needs a name.
  • 2 iron shoe cobbling molds
  • 2 metal hanging baskets for my porch. Can't wait to plant them up.
  • 1 perfectly quaint side table for traveling to craft shows.
  • An awesome old door with beautiful carving
  • 2 1910's window sash sets. We are going to use them as our cabinet doors for our record shelves.
Mom had the best deal of the day! She talked a guy down to $125 for TWO vintage beds. They are in great shape with the side bars included! They just need a fresh coat of paint and they'll be ready to go at the cabin.

Next Canton weekend is: April 2nd - 5th

If anyone is interested in taking a trip, let me know. I'd love to go for round two!

Canton, TX First Monday Flea Market

If you live near and haven't been, you must go!

My momma and I are heading out tomorrow for our annual trip to Canton, TX. It's crazy how big this place is and how many amazing treasures one can find.

It's about four hours from Norman, three hours from McAlester and an hour and fifteen from Dallas. There website has lots of info on vendors and directions. If you are looking for antiques and vintage items, the east side of the fair grounds is where to start. Will post some pics of our trip and scores Monday.

New Dresses for Spring!

I know I'm jumping ahead of myself a bit, but...
I'm ready for highs in the 70s, planting a vegetable garden, the reappearance of my freckles, going barefoot and spring clothing!

My new shift dresses are fully lined with soft, organic cotton and are super comfortable. Easy to throw over jeans, cover a swim suit or just wear about with a favorite pair of sandals. One down, lots more to sew!

Working on having an Etsy account up and running soon! Adding new stuff at Collected Thread this week.

Thanks to the lovely and sweet Erica Smith for helping me out with the photos! You're a doll!

Randy Madams

I usually could give a rip about celebrity couples and such, but, I really like these two individuals.

Mandy Moore, actress, singer and so cute, and Ryan Adams, one of my all time favorite singers/songwriters/poets/and weird dude, are engaged!

Hooray! I don't know them at all but hope they will be happy and that Mandy Moore tries out some alt country styling's.

The Couch is Back!

Man is my upholstery man in McAlester quick!

The fabric from Mod Green Pod is really soft and comfy. We've broken it in with a lot of House M.D. Season 3.

It's going to be in the 70's today! I'm going outside despite the wind. Have a great day!
