Remodel...Week 1

Last week they started on the bathroom...

When I left for work in the morning, it looked like this...


When I came home at 6 o'clock, it looked like this...


I think we found an awesome contractor....

This photo pretty much sums up the way Toby feels about our remodeling projects...
He hides for a good part of the morning.
Oliver, on the other hand, is constantly checking on the guys and asking for a pat or two.

This is what the nursery looks like right now...

Why yes, there is a toilet in our baby girls room.
And tiling supplies, new bar stools for the kitchen, bedding for the guestroom, light fixtures, grout, a faucet, etc...

I've tried to contain all the sweet things we've been given and have collected in anticipation of her arrival in one little area.
We obviously won't be painting her room until the
remodel is complete and the floors are re-finished.
I'm just glad all her furniture is out right now being painted.
Not really sure where it's going to go when we pick it up.

I'm pretty confident everything will be complete before she gets here.
This is what our shower looked like on Wednesday.
They started on Monday and this is what it looked like by Wednesday!

Our old tub, (that weighed 500 pounds!!!) was 5 and 1/2 feet long.
They no longer make tubs that length,
so we opted for the 5 foot tub and Tony built a little ledge to fill the gap.
Shaving my legs just got a lot easier.
They also put in a rounded shower curtain rod.
Even though we have less tub space,
it feels so much bigger now that the curtain goes out farther.
Also, they raised the shower head a considerable amount.
Tyler is very happy about this considering he's 6 ft 2in.

They install the tile floor and toilet this week, new paint for the bathroom and
hang our French doors for
the sun room/office/craft room/guest bedroom.

Heidi and Marshall

Okay folks....Miss Heidi is one of the most fun, energetic and genuine ladies I have ever met.

I was thrilled to do the personal flowers for her wedding a few weeks back.
Heidi and Marshall were married in Tulsa at Post Oak Lodge.
The talented people at Whitney English Paper designed the fun invitation suite.

Jill and Stephen

What a CREATIVE and BEAUTIFUL bride!

I adored working with Jill.

She and Stephen were married in Tulsa at Camp Loughridge back in April.

Blake Studdard and Evan French of 207 Photography Cooperative took these fabulous photos.

Such a cute couple...

Stephen's suit is from H&M and Jill's gorgeous dress (with awesome pockets) from J. Crew.

Darling marigold striped attendants dresses from Anthropologie.

Large vintage masons on cross sections of reclaimed wood and candles for

the large round tables.

Jill painted burlap runners with marigold and white stripes that ran the ENTIRE length of the long rectangle tables!

We clustered stacks of vintage Reader's Digest books, candles and flowers on top of the runners.

In lieu of petals, the flower girls tossed tree leaves.

We wrapped our vintage metal arch with burlap and topped it with hydrangeas, lisianthus, willow and stock.

Such a good looking wedding party!

Wedding flower post...

Wedding season officially started back in April, but now we are in the thick of it...

and I'm loving it.
We have had some wonderful brides and grooms already this year and lots of amazing and creative weddings to come.
Here are a few photos from a wedding we did back in September.

Fitting in...

I'm not sure where I fit these days...

My clothes are a bit snug, my journey sometimes feels solitary and I'm failing to find words with some of my companions.

I'm growing and it's wonderful. I know that our baby is growing too, and that's good. SO good. I just need to find more dresses with empire waists and remember that my hormones are going to be out of whack sometimes.

I have a wonderful support system in Tyler, my family and an amazing group of women. I feel so loved, but also super isolated. I isolate myself with worry. Worry over this little one as they develop, what birth is going to be like, what the first few weeks will be like, what they will be like when they are 1, 10 and 20. Worry that I will still enjoy my work. Worry that I will still be Katie. It's in my worry that I feel alone.
But when I'm not worrying, I'm dreaming. I dream about what life is going to be like and how wonderful it's going to be to be a mom, see Tyler be a dad and share our baby with our families. I know I'm not alone. I am loved. We are loved. I am supported. We are supported.

Tyler can attest that I can't turn off my brain. I over analyze and replay conversations from literally years ago. This is a super awful trait to have when it comes to talking to friends. I'm constantly worried that I've said the wrong thing, talked about the pregnancy too much, or that I'm just boring and not fun. I know I'm fun. I know I'm intelligent and have things to say. I just need to be around the people that don't make me doubt who I am and my worth.

I'm glad I fit with you, little sweet baby.
I'm glad I fit with you, family.
I'm glad I fit with you, friends that truly know me.
I'm glad I fit with nature and flowers and gardening and sunshine.
