Congrats Erin and Corey

My sweet friend, Erin got married last night!
She and Corey had so many
unique elements to their ceremony and reception.
Erin is a very gifted graphic designer and her
invitations and programs were so cool.
Rather than a traditional unity candle, they had a tree ceremony.
Both families came up and poured water into the base of the
tree to symbolize the start of Erin and Corey's new family tree.
Their colors were yellow, grey, white and a little bit of green. For her bouquet we used white larkspur, spray orchids, hydrangeas, stock, dahlias and cream and yellow garden roses.
Erin folded tons of white paper cranes which we hung on the chairs down the aisle, behind the ceremony arbor and from branches in some of the center pieces.
The lovely bride with her maids.
Their bouquets were green bells of Ireland, white stock, dahlias, larkspur and orchids.
Lindsay Zodrow, of Collected Thread, made the flower girls polka dot dress and instead of rose petals, we disassembled a few hydrangea blossoms that she dispersed from a cute galvanized metal bucket with a white satin bow.
The Bride and Groom.
Beautiful and delicious cake from Raspberries N Cream.
We used giant, white balloons and anchored them in clean, white ceramic bowls with grey stones and then placed them on square plates collared with dahlias.
White bird cages with more balloons, a pillar candle, moss and white Fuji mums.
A collection of the center pieces. In addition to the ones shown above, we did tall cylinders with submerged bells of Ireland topped off with white stock, and large glass vases with grey stones, willow branches and suspended paper cranes.
Erin's dad made a giant "R" that was placed above the mantel and the couple had a super fun photo booth that printed a copy for guests and one for their guest book.
A HUGE "thank you" to miss Dana Fisher for helping with set up.
Dana is one of my Dustbowl partners in crime
as well as a budding entrepreneur.
Pistachio, is her fabulous line of accessories and event design.
If any of you brides-to-be out there need an event planner,
she's your girl.
Also, thanks to the wonderful Erica Smith, of A Funny Girl, that did some beautiful hair and helped me fit everything back in my little car.

Congrats to the happy couple! Have a wonderful time in Hawaii!

Progress!

Things are moving right along with the store.

Here's what is looked like before...

We are switching out the cream fabric shades for some cool metal industrial lights, going grey on the walls and white and charcoal with blond wood on the fixtures.

We've applied the first coat of pretty grey paint.

The selection of wallpaper and lighting for the dressing rooms is in the works. I'm partial to the silver one in the middle with lucite cubes over the lights for the dressing areas...
Might go with on of these metal guys to complement the other lighting.
Maybe top right?
We've made a goal of October 20th for the first day of being open.
The Grand Opening Party will be Friday, October 30th.

Just got a great shipment of organic Japanese denim and some darling dresses from an independent designer in Northern CA. More products are coming in everyday and I want to take one of everything home with me!

Congrats Janie and Steve!

Wedding season is still in full swing! For this month, 1 down, 2 more to go.
Congratulations to Janie and Steve!
What a fun and beautiful wedding.
The bride looked stunning in a cream lace and embellished strapless dress and a veil that was absolutely perfect. The bridesmaids each wore a different design of dress made from a gorgeous light blue silk chiffon with brown accents.
The groom and his guys wore their United States Air Force Tux's, swords and all!
The arch salute was wicked cool!
Steve and Janie are both talented musicians and they let us know all about their skills.
After the couples first dance, they preceded to play "Living on a Prayer", by Bon Jovi on Guitar Hero! They scored 99% and 96%!
We were all very happy the rain decided to subside. It was a perfect evening for a wedding.
Unfortunately, my hand was shaking when I tried to photograph the happy couple.
Hopefully I can post some more pics soon. Until then...

Getting all packed up...
(Man I can't wait to be able to buy a new delivery vehicle,
I'm thinking a Honda Element would be sweet!)
To get to this place...
The Dominion House in Guthrie, OK
While working with miss Janie to determine the overall feel of the wedding I realized we are kindred design spirits! She had wonderfully specific ideas and incorporated so many vintage touches and Etsy finds throughout the wedding. A birdcage collected cards, a vintage blue lantern added some charm, cute wooden "E" and mason jars with
hydrangeas were found throughout the reception hall.
Janie also had a custom plate made. I wish I knew the artist that made it.
More hydrangeas, an old avon mini-pitcher to hold pens and a beautiful custom guest book.
Simple blossoms tied to the crisp white chairs added some texture down the sides of the aisle.
A bridesmaid bouquet made of peach roses, white hydrangeas &
chocolate cosmos with a lemon leaf collar.

Erin's Shower

My dear friend, Erin Walters, is getting hitched next weekend! I'm so excited for her and Corey's big day. She's super creative and picked a gorgeous color palette. How can you go wrong with Navy, Yellow, Grey and White? Can't wait to put all the flowers together!
Here are some pics from her personal shower last weekend...

Haley made the super duper cute fruit flowers.
The blushing bride-to-be!Porch Decs...
Next Saturday will be a blast!

Signed the lease and got the keys to my store yesterday! It's time to prime and paint this morning and then work on my friend Janie's wedding flowers the afternoon. I have a feeling that the next four weeks will be a wonderful and busy blur.
